Loop and Microsoft storageĭuring the Loop app Public Preview, Loop workspaces and pages created in the Loop app did not count towards personal or organizational storage quotas. Loop components are not yet supported in Teams, Outlook, or other apps when used with a personal Microsoft account. Some of its features may require a subscription once the Loop web app for personal Microsoft accounts exits Public Preview. The Loop web app for personal Microsoft accounts remains a Public Preview, and all its features are available to everyone. The Loop apps for iOS, Android, and the web are available to anyone with a personal Microsoft account. When this change occurs, new Loop workspaces will have a 1TB maximum size instead of a 5GB maximum size. This will change: for work and school accounts (Microsoft Entra accounts), Loop workspaces and pages will count towards an organization's SharePoint storage quota. The only capabilities that may be lost after the grace period are creating new workspaces, adding members to workspaces, and removing members from workspaces. As described above, all users will still be able to access their existing pages and workspaces, view components from other apps, and more. This grace period will end in early 2024, at which point all users will have access to Loop app features based on their Microsoft 365 plan. During the grace period, all users in the organization will have access to all Loop app features like they did during the Loop app Public Preview: namely creating new workspaces and adding/removing members to workspaces. To make the Loop app's transition out of Public Preview easier, organizations (Microsoft Entra tenants) in which at least one user used the Loop app Public Preview during 2023 are included in a grace period. IT administrators who set organizational policy can enable or disable the ability to create new Loop workspaces or Loop pages and components. Having one of those four Microsoft 365 plans enables three additional capabilities in the Loop app: To have access to all Loop app features, users with work accounts (Microsoft Entra accounts) need one of the following Microsoft 365 plans: Anyone with access to the Loop app can view Loop pages and components, view the Loop components they've recently used across other apps like Teams and Outlook, view Loop workspaces to which they've been added, and more. Most features of the Loop app are available to everyone with a work account (Microsoft Entra account, formerly Azure Active Directory account). Loop apps for iOS, Android, and the web with Loop components are available to anyone with access to Teams, Outlook, Whiteboard, SharePoint, OneDrive, and other supported Microsoft apps.
